SuitePad Alternative: a Guest Tablet for Hotels, Resorts and Holiday Rentals

SuitePad is established in the hotel room and has led that category for years — there is no arguing with that. ChaletMoments arrived from a different direction: from houses with no reception, where the tablet is the only voice the house has. What came out of that now works in both worlds — in the hotel room as much as in the chalet, the apartment and the resort spread across several buildings.

01

Who ChaletMoments is built for: hotels, aparthotels, chalet resorts, holiday homes

The structure of the system follows the structure of an operation: region, resort, unit, device. A resort carries what all its units share — check-in and check-out times, Wi-Fi, emergency contact, the housekeeping address, the bakery arrangement. The individual unit carries only what makes it different. For a hotel that means one building, many rooms, one maintained editorial voice. For a chalet resort: one operator, scattered houses, the same handwriting.

02

One tablet per room or per house — the number is not a limit

Whether a device sits in every room of a hotel or one per chalet makes no difference to the system: a unit can hold several devices, and every device knows which unit and which resort it belongs to. Administration stays a single surface — content, updates and lockdowns run through the same remote management, whether that is eight devices or eighty.

03

Added revenue: early check-in, late checkout and selling in the house

The surcharge for arriving earlier or leaving later is not a flat fee but a percentage of the gross nightly rate, clamped with a floor and a ceiling. In high season it stays worth something; in shoulder season it stays affordable. It is offered where the guest is already looking: on the tablet the evening before departure, and over WhatsApp before arrival. Alongside it sits selling in the house — from a breakfast basket to a spa pass, paid by NFC at the device.

04

What the tablet also does: inventory verification and device protection

Two things that came out of holiday-rental operations and carry just as well in a hotel. Room Check verifies a turnover against a reference inventory captured once, and reports what is missing or damaged with the photo beside it, in the housekeeper's own language. And every device runs in kiosk mode as Device Owner: it cannot be reset, repurposed or carried off, and a GPS geofence locks it the moment it leaves the property.

05

Eight guest languages and six for the housekeeping team

The tablet speaks German, English, Dutch, French, Italian, Czech, Hebrew and Arabic, the last two with full right-to-left layout. Content is written editorially in German and translated into the other languages; every translation can be reviewed and overridden by you. Inventory verification additionally speaks Polish, Czech, Hungarian and Romanian — the languages of the people who actually do the work.

06

What ChaletMoments adds — and where SuitePad is ahead

Three things distinguish us, based on a review of the public product pages (as of September 2026): with SuitePad, paid extras are by their own description added to the room bill, whereas ChaletMoments takes contactless payment at the device. Prices at SuitePad are maintained centrally as a list; ChaletMoments derives the surcharge as a percentage of the booking's own nightly rate, clamped with a floor and a ceiling. And for inventory verification after checkout we found no published solution from any vendor reviewed. Conversely SuitePad is clearly ahead on several counts: over 40 connected hotel systems against our single booking source, a genuine telephony replacement, TV control, licences for more than 1,000 newspaper titles, an in-room AI assistant — and more than 1,000 hotels in operation since 2012. If you need that depth in a hotel operation, that is where to get it.

07

Getting started and support

It begins with a 90-day pilot on one unit, device and on-site setup included. After that comes the portfolio arrangement, billed per unit per month, with custom terms from ten units upward. There are no separate feature tiers: the device, the editorial and the support are always included. What it costs depends on the number of units and the amount of editorial work — we work that out against the actual property.

Frequently asked questions

Does ChaletMoments work in a hotel, or only in holiday rentals?

Both. The system is tiered — region, resort, unit, device — so a hotel with many rooms is modelled the same way as an operator with scattered chalets. Shared details such as check-in times, Wi-Fi or the emergency contact live at resort level, and the unit carries only what is specific to it. A unit can also hold several devices.

What is the difference between ChaletMoments and SuitePad?

Where each came from, and therefore where each is strongest. SuitePad comes from the hotel room and is deeply integrated into hotel processes there. ChaletMoments comes from houses with no reception, where the tablet is the only source of information in the building — hence the emphasis on editorial content, regional recommendations, self-catering matters and automated upsells. Both are guest tablets; they answer different questions.

Is a guest tablet worth it for a single unit?

That can only be answered against the specific property, which is what the 90-day pilot — device included — exists for. The factors are the nightly rate (it determines what a later departure is worth), occupancy, and whether there are gaps in the calendar that can be sold at all.

Can ChaletMoments run under the operator's own brand?

Yes. Logo, colours and typeface are set per operator and loaded by the tablet at runtime, with no new app version. Several brands can run in parallel — different houses belonging to the same operator can present differently.

See it on a device, not in a slide deck.

We will set up a tablet for your property — hotel, aparthotel, resort or a single chalet — and walk through together which parts of it earn their place with you.
